Brief description of clinical services and acuity, including specialized services (example: behavioral/psychiatric, memory care, wound care, ventilator, dialysis, etc.)
We have 4 units in our facility: dementia, 2 LTC units and 1 subacute. We take residents with high acuities such as IV therapy, wound care and wound vac therapy, enteral and parenteral nutrition, TPN, life vest, Pleurx ( or similar) , Bipap/Cpap, Trilogy noninvasive ventilation, post surgical care of any surgical site, cast care, amputation care, colostomies, urostomies, nephrostomies. We have wall piped oxygen and able to take residents requiring high flow oxygen administration, and patients with tracheostomies. Our Heart Smart program enables the facility to take residents with advanced CHF, including continuous IV inotropic administration, administration of IV push medications, HFN and O2. While on dementia unit the nursing students can learn risk/benefits of psychotropic medications administrationas well as managing variety of behaviors with pharmacological and nonpharmacological interventions
