The Mental Health Association in New Jersey (MHANJ) is grateful to Jennifer Polakowksi, Community Liaison for New Jersey Action Coalition, for arranging to have Rutgers University Nursing students participate in the “Information Alley” section of our recent Walk for Wellness and Recovery. We wish to thank the students, Katsiaryna S. and Sarah H. for volunteering their time at the Walk to provide blood pressure screening and health information and to answer questions about health and wellness. Our Walk participants greatly appreciated the opportunity to access physical health information and this valuable screening while also exploring mental health and wellness content. A statewide non-profit organization, the MHANJ is committed to promoting integrated health care; they added an important element, raising awareness of the importance of addressing physical health while also focusing on emotional well-being.
